Sit but fit
A team of researchers from the New South Wales Centre for Overweight and Obesity at the University of Sydney has determined that children and young teenagers who spend more than two hours a day in front of computers or televisions are significantly less likely to be fit. The team’s research has been published in the February edition of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

Front-of-pack food labelling
Under the auspice of the Prevention Research Collaboration within the Institute of Obesity, Nutrition and Exercise, COO and CPHN are co-authors on the research report on 'Front-of-pack food labelling', just released by the NSW Cancer Council and Choice. The survey of nearly 800 adults shows shoppers are five times more likely to identify healthy and unhealthy foods when they display simple traffic-light labels, than those badged with industry preferred percentage daily intake labels.
